Postgraduate (Research)

Postgraduate research (PGR) programs focus on original research and academic inquiry, leading to degrees such as:
  • Master of Research (MRes)
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Postgraduate research (PGR) programs provide students with the opportunity to explore a specific research topic in depth under the mentorship of experienced supervisors. PGR students conduct independent research projects, making valuable contributions to their fields through new insights, discoveries, or solutions. The length of these programs varies by degree and discipline, typically lasting one to two years for an MRes or MPhil, and three to four years for a PhD. Throughout the program, students receive guidance and support, developing their research skills and critical thinking abilities. PGR programs conclude with the submission of a thesis or dissertation, demonstrating the student’s original contributions to academic knowledge.

For those interested in a spouse visa, research courses at level 8 allow eligibility for this visa.
